Melbourne Victory have made a u-turn over their ultimatum to Harry Kewell yesterday.

Victory had imposed a Thursday deadline for the indecisive Socceroo to make up his mind.

But today they have turned-about and issued a statement saying, "Melbourne Victory Football Club can confirm that it is in the final stages of discussions with Harry Kewell and his management. We expect to be in a position to announce an outcome shortly." 

Kewell has been linked to a number of other interested parties, but Victory appear to have been the most persistent.

Kewell's British actress wife is known to be pregnant with their fourth child, so it remains to be seen what impact that may have on a move back to Australia.
