Vettel Wins in Monaco 30/05/2011 2:33:38 PM

Sebastian Vettel has added the Monaco Grand Prix to his ever-expanding list of wins after last night's race.

The narrow track offered some hair-raising moments, and Lewis Hamilton fell foul of the rules a couple of times, and incurred penalties.

At one point, it looked like Jensen Button or Fernando Alonso might win, as Vettel's tyres were deteriorating and the two rivals were chasing him on fresh tyres in the later stages of the race.

However a crash involving Vitaly Petrov for Renault, saw the safety car deployed in lap 72 of 78, which enabled Red Bull to change tyres while the cars waited on the grid for the race to be re-started.

Petrov's crash sealed Vettel's win.

Luckily Petrov escaped major injury, but was taken to hospital with pains in his legs.

Mark Webber had another disappointing race, as he pitted early on, only to discover the pit team were not prepared for him, and he was forced to wait for his tyres and to re-join the race.

He dropped form third to fourteenth position, but managed to pick his way through the field and ultimately finished fourth.
