Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel has made a great start to the season by winning the Australian Grand Prix yesterday.
His first outing in the Red Bull RB7 could not have gone better. He started out from pole position, got away cleanly at the beginning, and had a convincing lead from the word go.
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was second place the whole way, but was never a threat to Vettel's position.
Vitaly Petrov, driving for Renault finished third, and became the first Russian to step up onto the F1 podium.
Mark Webber took a risk with his tyre strategy which did not work, and the best he could manage was fifth position.
The top 10 were;
1. Sebastian Vettel - 25
2. Lewis Hamilton - 18
3. Vitaly Petrov - 15
4. Fernando Alonso - 12
5. Mark Webber - 10
