There was triple trouble at the top of women's tennis at Wimbledon yesterday as defending champion Serena Williams, five-time champion Venus Williams
and top seed Caroline Wozniacki all crashed out of the tournament.
Serena had only just returned to the game after a year-long absence due to life-threatening illness after a foot injury last year.
Fiesty opponent Marion Bartoli of France fought tooth and nail for her 6-3 7-6 (8-6) victory over Serena on Court One, while big sis Venus lost to the same opponent she lost to last year in London - Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova.
Danish world number one Wozniacki was beaten 1-6 7-6 (7-5)
7-5 by 24th seeded Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova.
