Ian Thorpe announced today his new coach will be former Australian Institute of Sport mentor Gennadi Touretski.

Thorpe had been mentored by Swimming Australia head coach Leigh Nugent since October.

He will train under Touretski in Switzerland for most of the year, as well as Abu Dhabi and Australia.
