Bernard Tomic's dream run at Wimbledon is over after his exit at the hands of Novak Djokovic yesterday.
But Australia watched proudly on as Tomic put in a great effort, and had the Serb on the back foot more than once.
The confident teenager didn't hold back with his game, and even led the match 3-1 in the third set at one set all, before Djokovic took over to win 6-2 3-6
6-3 7-5.
The world no 2 even applauded Tomic at the end of the match and he can walk away with his head held high.
Tomic said afterwards that he will take inspiration from this tournament and said the result had showed him he is 'only a few matches away from winning a title'.
He said he hoped he could win a Grand Slam in the next two years.
His ranking will now improve dramatically, from 158 currently to somewhere in the low 70's and he should go on to improve it further over the coming months.
Tomic comes away from the tournament with a cheque for ($A209,500).
