Bernard Tomic has got Australia off to the start they'd hoped for in the Davis Cup tie against Switzerland at Royal Sydney.

The World No 59 battled against World No 19 Stanislas Wawrinka to win 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-3 in 2 hours and 26 minutes. 

Australia needs to beat Wawrinka in his two singles matches to win the tie.
