Newcastle Knights' owner Nathan Tinkler was burgled at the weekend.

Thieves got away with his $500,000 Ferrari California, along with jewellery, electrical goods and some personal paperwork.

Police have today found the supercar dumped and burnt out in bushland at Raymond Terrace, off the Pacific Highway.

It was one of only 5 cars of its kind in this country. Police have removed it and will undertake forensic examination on it.

The thieves struck while the mining magnate, his wife and children were asleep.
