The Knights/ Tinkler saga continues as the mining millionaire lodged another offer yesterday afternoon.
The board of members met last night and it appears the parties are on the verge of an agreement.
Former Knights board member and current NIB chief executive Mark Fitzgibbons has been working as the key intermediary between both parties since Tinkler withdrew his original offer on Monday.
A members' petition to overrule the Knights board attracted around 40 more signatures than was necessary to force the meeting which happened last night.
It is believed the deal will still be for $100 million over 10 years but the structure and wording of the offer has changed.
A final meeting to secure the club's fate will be held around the end of March.
