South Sydney players and fans were disappointed to hear that Wests Tigers have opted to play this year's Heritage Round match at the Sydney Football Stadium instead of the SCG, where they usually do battle .
Souths fans hit back by accusing the Tigers of being afraid to play against them there again, after they thrashed them 50-10 last year.
Souths chief executive Shane Richardson said they loved to play at the hallowed cricket grounds, which has such great tradition and atmosphere, and the fans loved to watch them play there.
But Wests Tigers chief executive Steve Humphreys said their decision to switch grounds was down to concerns over the state of the pitch, coming so close to the end of the cricket season and also they preferred to play their round 22 match against St George Illawarra at the SCG to mark the 50-year anniversary of the 1961 grand final between Wests and St George.
