Tiger Woods has been forced to withdraw from next week's US PGA event in Charlotte after spraining a ligament in his left knee along with a strained left Achilles tendon at the Masters.
Woods said on his website he had personally contacted tournament officials to apologise for not being able to play, and explained he was under strict doctor's orders.

He said there was no set time in mind to make his return to the game but he hoped to be back in a few weeks.
