Austrian tennis player Daniel Koellerer has become the first tennis player to be banned for life for attempting to fix matches.
Koellerer is a former Davis Cup player. He was found guilty of three violations of the sport's anti-corruption rules, taking place between October 2009 and July 2010.
In addition to the lifetime ban, he was fined $US100,000 ($A93,675).
Koellerer vehemently denied the charges and is considering whether to appeal.
He said "I have been accused of asking other players to lose their match. That's total nonsense."
