The Canterbury Bulldogs last night stood down Ryan Tandy after he was charged in connection with the Cowboys betting sting on Wednesday.

He will appear in court on March 3, and if found guilty of providing false information, could face up to five years in jail. 

Pressure had been mounting for the player to stand down himself, and former Canterbury half-back Steve Mortimer said he believed Tandy should have done so.
