Switzerland's Didier Defago takes home the first gold medal in the blue riband event for his country in 22 years.

Defago was happy to achieve his dream, after three previous Olympics and a number of championship events, he said he thought his experience in these had really helped.

Aksel Lund Svindal from Norway took the silver and Bode Miller of America took bronze.
