Storm captain Cameron Smith and coach Craig Bellamy expressed their pride at their team's achievements this year, despite the unexpected 20-12 loss at the preliminary final at AAMI Park last night.

2010 was a black year as they were stripped of two premierships and all of last year's points in the wake of the salary cap rort.

But the Storm have made a rapid recovery this year to win the minor premiership.

Smith said there had been many doubters at the beginning of the season but he hoped they had proved them wrong. 

He said they could all be very proud of their achievements this year.
