Socceroos' coach Holger Osieck today named his 23-man squad which will play in friendlies against the All Whites on Sunday, followed by Serbia two days later.
There are a few surprises to the line-up with some new faces making their debuts, in the absence of Tim Cahill, Harry Kewell, Mark Schwarzer and David Carney.
Osieck has selected rising stars from Europe after scouting for new talent after the Socceroos played Germany in March this year.
Michael Zullo and James Troisi will join veterans Lucas Neill, Brett Emerton and Luke Wilkshire on the squad.
The coach believes next month's games provide an ideal opportunity to test some potential new players ahead of the World Cup 2014 campaign which begins in September.
