The Socceroos beat New Zealand 2-1 in a friendly at the MCG last night, but coach Pim Verbeek was far from impressed by his team's performance.
Horrendous challenges from Tim Cahill and Vince Grella on NZ winger Leo Bertos saw him stretchered off the field and both Socerros players received yellow cards for their conduct.
However Verbeek said these would probably have been red if they were playing in the World Cup.
The coach was planning on giving both players a proper lambasting after the game.
He praised the New Zealand team for their professional behaviour and admitted his own team's win was fortunate.
They have just three weeks now to get ready for the World Cup and if last night's form is anything to go by, it looks as if it will be a major challenge.
