One of Australia's best exports was defeated in the UK yesterday.
So You Think was beaten by Rewilding at Royal Ascot after going out as 4-11 favourite to win.
So You Think's new trainer Aidan O'Brien accepted the blame for the loss, saying he didn't think he had the horse fit enough, after seeing him lose out to a late urge by Godolphin's Rewilding ridden by legendary Italian jockey Frankie Dettori.
After the race Dettori said it was ''sheer joy to see two great horses battle it out''.
However Dettori's moment of glory was overshadowed as he picked up a nine-day suspension for using his whip with excessive frequency on Rewilding.
The stewards found he hit the whip on his horse 24 times inside the final two furlongs.
He will be suspended from June 29-July 7 and will miss the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown and the first day of the July meeting at Newmarket.
The ban comes on top of another he incurred recently in the Oaks at Epsom.
Suspended for 10 days - it commences on Friday meaning he will miss the last two days of Royal Ascot.
