AJC Australian Derby winner Shoot Out's autumn carnival comeback will be in the Group One TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick in April.

After an impressive but long spring campaign, Shoot Out failed to impress in the Melbourne Cup, finishing 13th.

But trainer John Wallace is now happy with Shoot Out's progress saying he's been working very well and has never looked better.

He will run three races at the Brisbane winter carnival ahead of the spring in Melbourne.

Wallace said he had entered the horse for everything and will decide closer to the time when he knows how he's going.
