Maria Sharapova will play Petra Kvitova in the women's finals at Wimbledon tomorrow.

It will be Sharapova's first grand slam final since her shoulder injury in 2008 which toppled her off the top and threatened to end her career.

The determined Russian ace dispatched wildcard Sabine Lisicki, 6-4 6-3 in their semi-final overnight.

Petra Kvitova aged 21, is from Czechoslovakia, and has improved her game massively over the last two years.

She is the first left-hander to reach the women's Wimbledon final since her compatriot and nine-time champion Martina Navratilova in 1994.
