Canterbury Bulldogs today sacked Ryan Tandy for his refusal to answer his club as to whether he had placed a bet on their own game against the Gold Coast Titans in June last year.
The club decided they could no longer keep him in their employment if he was not prepared to provide information on a matter which was fully within his knowledge and pertaining to his duties at the club.
Tandy faces four charges of providing false or misleading evidence to the NSW Crime Commission which the club pointed out are a separate matter to their actions today.
