Bulldogs front rower Ryan Tandy has been arrested by police today over a betting scam on an NRL game last year.
Detectives are in the final stages of their investigation into suspicious betting activity on Canterbury's round-24 NRL match versus the North Queensland Cowboys last year.
Tandy was arrested for allegedly providing false evidence to police.
The player was penalised during the match for lying on top of Cowboys half Grant Rovelli in front of the posts.
The plot to fix the game was foiled anyway when the Cowboys scored a try instead of kicking a goal after two minutes.
Unusual betting activity around the match prompted further investigations.
It is expected Tandy will be charged today
