Andy Roddick went through to the second round at Wimbledon after beating German qualifier Andreas Beck 6-4 7-6 (8-6) 6-3 yesterday.

Although Roddick has only recently recovered from a shoulder injury which saw him miss the French Open, his experience on grasscourts prevailed and he will now face either Jaroslav Pospisil or Victor Hanescu.
