Sydney jockey Peter Robl lost his appeal against a 12 month disqualification after a hearing at Racing NSW headquarters today.
Robl and another jockey Blake Shinn were charged and disqualified in late November last year after being caught betting on races they were riding in over a period of two years.
The jockeys had used the TAB accounts of Robl's wife's and Blake's mother to carry out their illicit betting activity.
Steward's evidence at the time revealed their bets had totalled over $300,000 in just 3 months.
Robl tried to get his disqualification reduced to a suspension but failed.
He will be unable to apply for his licence again until November 26 this year.
