Maria Riesch of Germany is now a double Olympic champion after winning the slalom gold yesterday, on top of her super-combined gold last week. She is now the biggest winner in the women's events.
Marlies Schild of Austria finished second for silver, with Sarka Zahrobska for the Czech Republic winning the bronze, which was her country's first Vancouver Olympic medal.
Riesch's technique was impressive in spite of heavy snowfall and poor visibility. She also made an error which slowed her down, but it wasn't enough to knock her off her quest.
Germany is now at the top of the medals table, with three golds for the alpine women's ski team.
