The Qatar Football Association yesterday announced it's World Cup 2022 Bid Committee had won the right to host the tournament in an honest manner and not through corruption, as claimed by leading British newspaper the Sunday Times.
The QFA issued a statement on behalf of the Bid Committee which provided thorough responses to the allegations made by British reporters and said the claims were false.
The governing body in Qatar said it welcomed an investigation of its bid, but through official channels only.
Part of the statement said "All the allegations are hearsay and supposition. In addition, the allegations are wholly unsupported by any documentary material whatsoever."
