Veteran Gold Coast Titans player Preston Campbell has announced he will retire at the end of the 2011 season after all.
Campbell had signed up for one year's extension back in June this year, but after further consideration, has decided it's time to start the next chapter of his life.
Campbell said he wants to stay on with the Gold Coast in an off-field role next year and also work with indigenous youth.
He has played for the NRL for 14 years, and made his debut with the Gold Coast Chargers in 1998, which disbanded at the end of that season.
He was the first player to sign up with the newly-formed Gold Coast Titans in 2005.
He's played a total of 262 NRL matches, including 98 for the Titans.
