The Brisbane Broncos are adding six Origin stars to their extended 19-man squad for Friday night's NRL derby against Gold Coast at Suncorp Stadium.

Darren Lockyer, Jharal Yow Yeh, Justin Hodges, Ben Hannant, Sam Thaiday and Corey Parker have rested up since last Wednesday's epic Origin Series final and will just train once with the squad this Thursday ahead of the match.

Coach Anthony Griffin hopes Broncos will make a late season surge, with 8 games still to play. 

Brisbane squad: Josh Hoffman, Gerard Beale, Jack Reed, Justin Hodges, Jharal Yow Yeh, Darren Lockyer, Peter Wallace, Ben Hannant, Andrew McCullough, Scott Anderson, Alex Glenn, San Thaiday, Corey Parker. Interchange: Matt Gillett, Ben Hunt, Mitchell Dodds, Josh McGuire, Kurt Baptise, Dunamis Lui (two to be omitted).
