Australia's hopes of being reconsidered to host the World Cup in 2022 in light of claims that Qatar had 'bought' the right to host, appear to be dashed as FIFA president Sepp Blatter announced the bid process would not be revisited.
Blatter is set to continue as president into a fourth term, after FIFA presidential candidate Mohamed bin Hammam and FIFA vice-president Jack Warner were suspended while a full investigation is carried out into claims they offered cash gifts to national associations at the Trinidad conference in return for their votes in the presidential election.
