Australia's cricket coach Tim Nielsen is leaving his position with immediate effect.

Nielsen only signed a new three-year contract before the Ashes last year, but Cricket Australia have recently come up with some recommendations to improve national cricket which meant his role would be different and include further responsibilities.

The CA told the head coach he would have to re-apply for the role, but after much soul-searching, Nielsen decided against it.

So it seems that Australia will need to find a new or interim coach immediately.
