Queensland Cowboys halfback Johnathan Thurston has complained to the Rugby League Players Association about the NRL scheduling, which he believes can put some of the game's best players at risk.
The Cowboys are about to face their third game in just 12 days on Friday.
Thurston says when games backup so quickly, players get fatigued which increases their chance of injury.
He wants a standard to be set, with a minimum of six days between games.
The RLPA have advised this is a serious issue which is being looked into.
