Maroons coach Mal Meninga has not apologised for last weekend's comments in the Sunday Mail and has today backed what he said with a follow-up in the Courier-Mail.

Meninga said there was 'no way to put it delicately' and that the people of Queensland needed to know what hurdles their team had had to overcome to gain victory this Series. 

He explained he'd been unable to say anything before, for fear of harming his side's chances before the final, but the fight had been started by those responsible, and next year they wouldn't be able to get away with those tactics again. 

Meninga could face legal action for not retracting his comments.
