Queensland coach Mal Meninga will be sued by members of the NRL match review committee unless he makes a full apology and retracts his allegations that they were part of a conspiracy to prevent the Maroons from winning last week's Origin series for the sixth year running.

Meninga vented his fury and made the allegations in a newspaper column last Sunday, calling certain members 'rats and filth'.

He aimed most of his criticism at Blues coach Ricky Stuart,  his chief advisor, Bob Fulton, NSWRL general manager Geoff Carr and McCallum.

Letters were yesterday sent to Meninga and News Ltd, demanding a full apology and retraction - and a warning of legal action if he did not comply.

The actions have the full backing of the NRL.
