All Black player Luke McAlister has angered NZ Rugby Union by evading them since being left out of the Tri Nations squad.
McAlister failed to contact his club to explain his absence, while his father/ manager said Luke was caring for his ill son who has a heart condition.
However, his father later revealed the player wants to leave New Zealand altogether, and try his luck playing for Toulouse in France.
NZ Rugby Union are unhappy McAlister has not been answering their calls and has hidden behind his son's illness.
If he did get granted an early release, his new club would have to pay $NZ60,000 to the All Blacks.
