FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke announced yesterday the 2014 World Cup final will be held in Rio's famous Maracana stadium.
It's history goes back to 1950 when it opened and hosted the World Cup final between Brazil and Uruguay, which the hosts lost 2-0.
The massive stadium will be upgraded to seat about 85,000 spectators.
Valke said they must now decide where the semi-finals and the opening match will take place.
