Miami Heat's star basketball player LeBron James has become a minority owner in the English Premier League club Liverpool.

Fenway Sports Group also owns baseball's Boston Red Sox and has set up a deal with James's sports-marketing firm to be the representative for the controversial Miami Heat player around the globe.

As part of the deal, James gets a minority stake in Liverpool. 

James said he was "excited to be affiliated with this incredible organisation" and was looking forward to wearing the Liverpool shirt and visiting  their homegrounds at Anfield.
