Robert Kubica F1 driver for Renault, has been injured while driving in a rally car, with various unconfirmed reports coming in stating different injuries.
Kubica's car crashed into a wall almost 5km after the start of the race.
His co-driver was unhurt, but Kubica's injuries have been reported as a fractured hip and other multiple injuries, possibly a fractured arm or wrist, or even a crushed hand.
He was airlifted to hospital and is undergoing checks.
A statement is expected to be released shortly but with just 5 weeks until the F1 season commences, it looks unlikely Kubica will be recovered in time for Bahrain.
