The Newcastle Knights face uncertain times as both their major sponsors met with the NRL's chief executive Steve Burraston to discuss recent off-field dramas yesterday.

Two players have now been charged with drug dealing - Danny Wicks and Chris Houston - who were housemates as well as teammates. They have voluntarily ended their contracts following the charges.

After the meetings with NIB and McDonalds, Burraston said he was feeling positive as the sponsors had been able to talk about a number of concerns and he would now provide further information to them to aid the ongoing relationship with the organisations.

He added he was pleased and thankful he'd been given the opportunity to brief the sponsors.
