Harry Kewell's management team are currently seeking non-football contracts and sponsorships before the player signs a new contract - most likely with Melbourne Victory.
Kewell is looking to maximise sponsorship revenues to make up for what he sees as shortcomings in his contract with the FFA.
He has been offered between $250,000 - $500,000 a year over the next three years, but is believed to be unhappy with aspects of the heavily incentive-based deal.
Much has been made of the player's hesitancy to sign with Victory, some believe he is using the club as a plan B while negotiating with other clubs overseas.
However it's more likely that he was never directly told of Melbourne's deadline, and he probably won't sign anything until the end of August when the European transfer window closes.
