Rumours that Harry Kewell is set to join Melbourne Victory gathered momentum as Collingwood Football Club president, Triple M broadcaster and sport insider Eddie McGuire said the player would be presented with his Victory shirt when the team plays Scottish side Celtic in a friendly match at AAMI Park on July 13.

A spokesman for Victory said the club is still in the running to get Kewell and remain hopeful.

Kewell is being chased by a number of A-League sides.

The Socceroo has recently finished playing for Turkish club Galatasary.
