Australia's Michael Katsidis has lost his interim lightweight world title fight against Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero from the US in Saturday night's fight at the MGM Grand's Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Katsidis lost on a unanimous points decision.
Guerrero was able to to pound Katsidis repeatedly with straight left hands.
It looked as if Katsidis might win half way through the second round when he hit Guerrero with a left hook, which sent him towards the canvas, his right glove touching it, but the ref did not call it a knockdown.
The ref deducted two points from Katsidis for low blows during a fierce body attack in the eighth round, while Guerrero had a point deducted for hfor teh same reason in the ninth round.
