FIFA president Sepp Blatter has confirmed that Japan will play host to the 2011 Club World Cup in December.

It had been held in Japan four times before the United Arab Emirates took over as host in 2009.

Champion teams from all six continental confederations will play against each other.

The news will be a welcome boost to Japan, which has suffered seriously this year with a massive earthquake and tsunami.
