Sydney's spring racing carnival is ready for a huge makeover aimed at keeping the best racehorses here for the maximum amount of time.

There have been no official announcements yet, but if the blueprint is approved the ATC is expected to introduce the changes in time for this spring.

Changes to race programmes, rotating tracks and increased prize monies are all part of the plan.

The ATC will aim to have four consecutive Saturdays of Group 1 racing during the spring.
