Top Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman is heading to the UK for six weeks to reunite with trainer Mick Channon there. 

Four years ago Bowman rode 33 winners in the UK for the trainer.

The jockey said he wanted to complete the Brisbane carnival before leaving and will only miss the Group 1 Winter Stakes.

He will ride dual Stradbroke winner Black Piranha in Saturday's Doomben 10,000 where Hay list is a firm favourite.

Bowman's first ride on British turf will be at Royal Ascot next month.
