This year's Hall of Fame inductees included four AFL legends; Essendon's James Hird, Brisbane three-time premiership captain Michael Voss, Collingwood's Nathan Buckley, Adelaide utility Mark Ricciuto, plus Tasmanian football legend Horrie Gorringe and Tony Charlton of AFL TV coverage fame.
AFL stars Hird, Buckley, Voss and Ricciuto were in a group of all-time greats who retired in 2006-07.
The selection rules this year deemed a maximum of six inductees, one of which had to be an umpire, administrator or member of the media.
