Aussie boxer Danny Green has rubbished reports his next opponent recently tried to commit suicide.
Polish cruiserweight Krzysztof Wlodarczyk was hospitalised two months ago after an overdose of sleeping pills.
Certain media in Poland reported the fighter had deliberately tried to kill himself after a fight with his wife.
Green angrily denied the story, saying there was no way the WBC would sanction a fight with him if the reports were true.
Green explained the Pole had indeed had a fight with his spouse, and had been unable to sleep afterwards.
He had phoned his manager who was away on holiday, who advised him to take some sleeping pills.
He then called back a while later to say he was feeling sick, and he was admitted to hospital and had his stomach pumped.
His management team stressed that it was not a deliberate overdose and he was back at work training in the gym two days later, and feeling fit.
