New Zealand's rising golf star Danny Lee has been disqualified at the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur for signing off on an incorrect scorecard.
Lee had finished the tournament tied for 17th on five under after a three-over 75 on the final day.
But the mistake cost him $26,350 in earnings and he negated his best result on the European Tour since a 10th at the Johnnie Walker tournament at Gleneagles in August 2009.
He also fell nine spots to 535 in the world rankings.
The tournament was won by Italian teenager Matteo Manassero, who at almost 18 years old is the youngest European tour winner.
