David Gallop has clarified the comments he made on radio yesterday when he compared Melbourne Storm fans to terrorists.
Gallop was on the receiving end of boo-ing and abuse when he presented a minor premiership trophy at AMI Stadium in Melbourne at the weekend.
Storm fans decided to show their displeasure in response to last year's salary cap breaches when the team was stripped of two of its premiership titles and all last season's points.
Gallop had later said in the radio interview that the fans had showed their passion in their reaction to him, but as terrorists were passionate about what they do, it didn't necessarily make it right.
On Triple M radio today Gallop said he had not been calling fans terrorists, but was instead making the point that poor behaviour should not be excused simply because it was down to passion.
