The French Open will not make a proposed move to a new venue outside Paris.
The French Tennis Federation (FFT) decided in favour of keeping the event at its historic home at Roland Garros and not relocate to Marne-La-Vallee, the home of Disneyland Paris.
Other possible venues had been Versailles and Gonesse, but these options were dismissed earlier on in the voting process.
The 8.5 hectare site in Paris will undergo a massive renovation, including expanding to 13.5 hectares to allow for a new 5000 seater court.
The renovation project is causing problems with some who do not want to see the disappearance of conservation areas around the venue.
