Brendan Fevola and his lawyers met with police at the Brisbane Magistrates Court today for private mediation in an attempt to avoid a public nuisance charge.

The disgraced former AFL player was arrested on New Year's Day when he became verbally aggressive towards police who stopped him from walking on the road.

Fevola has since made an unconditional apology and will discover the outcome of the mediation session when the matter goes to court at the end of April.
